Unit 4 Test

1st Quarter is now in the books.  Grades have to be verified by teachers before school starts tomorrow.  Report cards will be printed this week, with one being mailed home, and the other going home with your student on Friday.  Report cards will be handed out by your second period teacher.

If you fell just short of passing this quarter, all hope is not lost.  It is your semester grade which determines if you earn your credit.  You just need to make up the difference during second quarter.  For example, if you received a 66% for your first quarter grade (failing by 4%), you just need to earn a 74% second quarter (passing by 4%), and pass your final exam.  So give it your all the next nine weeks of school, and you will be just fine.

We will be starting Unit 4 tomorrow.  Unit 4 keeps us in the Middle Ages, only we focus in on the founding of Islam and the impact the Islamic Empire had on the world during this time period.  We will also discuss the Crusades.

Currently we are scheduled to test on Wednesday, November 10th, just before our day off for Veteran's Day on the 11th.  As always, students will receive a study guide at least two days in advance to prepare.  These study guides help prepare students for the information they will be tested on, as well as they are worth a homework grade.  Please encourage your student to complete theirs and prepare for the test!
